It has been announced that the next Golden Oldies Festival will be held on 1st to 8th September 2008 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Wirral & Edinburgh Golden Oldies 2008 Tour - indicative quotations - accommodation and travel Over the last few days/nights I have been able to confirm some indicative quotations and prices re the above Wirral part of our 2008 tour.
Please find below information which has been provided by my contacts and friends from the Wirral.
Hotel Accommodation
Thornton Hotel (based on 22 twin share) 100 UK Pounds per night including full English breakfast (special rate as arranged by Nicky Cornford). (Normal price 189 UK Pounds per night not including breakfast).
Converted into AUD$ is $250 per twin room per night including breakfast for 2.
Village Hotel - 85 UK Pounds per night NOT including breakfast.
Converted into AUD$ is $212.50 per twin room per night NOT including breakfast.
Selwyn's Coaches, Chester - 32, 49 and 53 seat options (to be confirmed)
Option 1: 3,000 UK Pounds for the full 4.5 days hire ($7,500 @ 2.5% conversion rate)
Option 2: (Preferred)
Wednesday 27th - Manchester Airport to Hotel = 300 UK Pounds
Thursday 28th - Hotel to Liverpool, day return to Hotel = 300 UK Pounds
Friday 29th - Hotel to Chester - day return to Hotel = 200 UK Pounds
Saturday 30th - Not required as day spent at Rugby Club
Sunday 31st - Hotel to Edinburgh Jury Hotel = 600 UK Pounds
TOTAL = 1,400 UK Pounds ($3,500 @ 2.5% conversion rate).
Flights:
Option 1: Qantas - still awaiting quotes for 24 travellers (not including Heritage Tour Party)
Option 2: Emirates - as per above
Option 3: Singapore Airlines - as per above.
Summary of Indicative Costs in AUD$ conversion:
Hotel: 4 nights = $1,000 per twin room (2.5% conversion rate)
Coach: $3,500/42 = $84 per tourist (2.5% conversion rate)
Estimated Total Cost for the Wirral part of 2008 Tour = $584 per tourist (not including flights or main meal/drink expenses)
